i just watched the news of bong alvarez hitting abs-cbn reporter AND TAEKWONDO BLACKBELTER gretchen malalad. if anything, that guy deserves a kick in the balls for being the ass that he is. what makes these guys think they can get away with everything? did all the "excitement" get to his head and remained there, obliterating every thing else including at least, some realization that cameras were all over the freaking place to record him sinking an elbow to gretchen malalad's face, then hitting her in the face and neck -- and then later still, grabbing her hair and scratching her neck when she fights back?

and then the guy later says sorry to gretchen, using his three kids as an excuse. wtf? spare your kids from this, mister. if you really cared about what your kids think you should have thought about that before throwing a cheap shot at the woman for everyone to see. and you obviously need to stop drinking.

and what about those people interviewed about their reactions and answering that the guy could have just been annoyed by the reporter, "nakulitan lang" that's why he hit the reporter. come on. this is exactly the type of mentality that breeds abuse! there is no excuse for violence, especially if you're drunk and your level of IQ has just dropped inversely proportional to the alcohol level in your system.

no one has the right to hit anybody - woman, man, child, the elderly - just because he or she is annoyed.

if you're drunk, can't even get your self home on your own, have mauled a taxicab driver who had the misfortune of having you for a passenger, hit a tv news reporter just doing her job, and have the audacity to justify your actions, then you truly deserve a kick in the balls.

you go girl! (photo by boso/andrew villasis @ flickr)

just thinking of guys like him makes me want to take up my aikido classes again.

this is the reason why i respect borgy's evil side. he only fights conio guys like him. hehe.

i know rich people ride cabs too but bong alvarez riding a taxi, drunk? doesn't he have a car? a driver? did his friends just abandon him or wat!?

my heart goes out on that old guy who now looks like a pulp. who's worse, bong alvarez or malu fernandez.. niyahaha

lastly to gretchen malalad. would the line "you go girl" ever sound so fitting! niyahaha.

good post!

yeah that was so unethical of bong knowing that he himself used to be a public figure before and gretchen is just doing her job. for god's sakes, gretchen's a woman. what he did was so ungentlemanly of him, trashy attitude i might add. what gretchen did was not only valiant, but classy of her. someone who stands up for herself and has the convictions to fight for what she believes in truly deserve so much accolades. =)

@ paolo -- thanks! he's a jerk. period.

@ ruff -- that boy needs more than just a punch in the face. sure hopes he learns his jail.

@ undextrois -- actually, my aikido classes lasted only for about 2 weeks. not enough time for me to learn a lot.

it's prolly not an aikido movie, but i love So Close (Shu Qi,Karen Mok,Zhao Wei). =)
