I really think I need to upgrade to a Flickr Pro Account, at the rate I'm camwhoring snapping pictures these days. But should I? I reaaallllyyy, really want to. (Sponsors, anyone? Haha)

Must love dogs!
(niki dognapping Chriscie's new baby, Pepper)

Right now I'm listening to reggae, trying to relax and get that weekend feeling. If the previous weeks weren't so busy for me, this week loads of work started coming in for me (enough to keep me glued to my station in the next coming days) -- which is actually a good thing, because not being really busy makes me jittery and makes me think of real weird things like life, love, and why people are embarrassed to admit pooping in office toilets when it's perfectly normal for human beings to poop and that toilets were invented so that we can well, poop. Like normal human beings should.

Anyway.

Here are the things that managed to find a pretty place in the cluttered place that is my mind:

And doesn't it feel peculiar that everyone wants a little more?
so that I do remember to never go that far,
Could you leave me with a scar?
~ Scar lyrics, Missy Higgins

I'm okay with scars. I've been getting some lately, some I can't remember how. But none where it really, or should, matter. Maybe I'm being too careful?

I love pancakes. I can eat them all day.

If you can make me laugh, you can get me to get myself in trouble. haha.

My sister (and my cousin) is coming to town again this weekend. It's the last day of the bar exams tomorrow, and I smell a party!

Give me the green light
~Green Light lyrics, John Legend

Don't ask. Okay, do ask. I'll answer if I like your question, haha.

Someday I'll go visit Japan and walk underneath the cherry blossoms!

Nice hands. Even nicer brains.

Should I move to Wordpress? I'm getting bored with the way my site is looking.

I should help promote the Reproductive Health Bill just like what Rom's doing. I believe in it. Also, it will make my mom (a former DOH Information Officer) proud. Maybe in my next post, heh.

The sound of this guy's laugh tickles my brains. I like it.

How much will my phone bill cost, now that there's no stopping me from calling or going online or just pestering no-show friends with messages like, "if you're not interested in joining me just pretend you didn't get this message I've gotten used to being snubbed (by you)." Yes. What a vile, this niki person is.

I'd love to have a Marvin Gaye album. Also, George Michael. And some Siouxsie & The Banshees (not really familiar but I heard one of their songs in the radio and liked it). And some Blondie (because Deborah Harris rocks!). And yes, some Erika Badu too.

"Sometimes I can't really tell if I'm lost or if God just rearranged the furniture."
~ quoting myself, from a conversation this afternoon

That's it for now folks. Enjoy your weekend!

I was just about to go with a profound, dramatic one-liner entry on how these days I feel like I'm running out of time or a flailing in the wind like, you already know, don't you? to no one in particular but no, let me waste this space by throwing a fit: to all those people making Tagalog versions of recent pop hits, die, die, die!!!1!!

When the bus I was in from Legazpi hit Manila early yesterday morning I was treated to a medley of tagalized (yes, there is such a word, folks) and did I mention butchered versions of Flo Rida's Low, Rihanna's Umbrella, Akon's Smack That and some other shit that did not retain itself in my memory because I was thankfully nearly paralyzed from the eight-hour trip and still too sleepy to think.

And then this morning I was assaulted by the sight and sound of some LOLtist performing her version of Fergie's Clumsy ("ako'y natisod, natapilok, umikot, di nag ingat sa pagmamahal" bullshit) in some morning TV show and it nearly drove me to slash my wrists, pray the rosary, shave my head, or do some crazy sufi dancing in the hopes of warding off the evil spirit of stupidity.

God.

Yes, if this is what you call local music these days I would rather listen to a goat bleat, thanks much.

And oh. Who the hell made that awful remake of Gary V.'s Each Passing Night?? Keeriist.

Wow. Just like that and my "limited engagement" in my hometown is about to come to an end. I realized this morning as I lay in my old bed in my room (that badly needs a renovation -- it never really got over typhoon Reming) that Art was right -- a vacation at home is always too short. But I'm glad that I went ahead with my spur of the moment decision to go home this time, hehe. =)

So as expected, I went on a shooting spree, lugging Boris and my sister's super Sony T20 everywhere I went and shot everything worth shooting lol. That's mira and me riding the jeepney above. In Manila I can never quite get myself to shoot outdoors -- paranoid that I'll get the camera snatched while shooting something fancy in the streets. I'm not really sure if it's true, that things are always safer in the province.

I don't have time to tell you guys all about my weekend (I'm heading back to Manila later this afternoon so I gotta go, gotta go), but you can check out some photos here, here, and here. =)

See you guys soon!

Okay. No. Riding a bus.

In a few hours I'll be on my way to my hometown. I wonder what surprises lie waiting for me there -- could things change so much in eight months?

I'm excited to see Legazpi City - the quaint little city I grew up in again. Yes, it's that city nestled at the foot of that volcano clickable to your right (oh please do vote? thanks!), and the food! I miss eating genuine home-cooked meals (especially those by my dad, who's the only one who can cook in a home with three women lol). The (fast)food here in the big city are yummy but there's nothing like a home-cooked meal.

I hear my friends (now all married or planning to marry) are also excited to see me. Being the party organizer (read: booze) I used to be I'm sure they're all excited to get me drunk and confess my sins or soon to be sins again. Not that I've done it before (confess my sins). Or maybe I just can't remember. lol.

But yay, I'm going home!

Yesterday I gave my parents a call to let them know I'm going home tomorrow after almost a year of not showing my face in my hometown. My dad asked me if I still went to church every Sunday, and all I could do is hum an unintelligible answer because I haven't been to church except for the two or three occasions that I was with people who had to attend mass before continuing on with other things (like malling or shopping).

It's not that I dislike going to church (and I am not an atheist okay) -- let's just say I'm at a stage in my life where my relationship with the universe is funny. I have a liiiiittle suspicion that God originally planned for me to be an inanimate object, but that's just a tiny suspicion and I'm pretty sure the universe has something big in store for me yes?

It's good to see yourself sometimes through other people's eyes.

How often do we look at people and really see them?

The way it's been raining the past couple of days you'd think somebody or something has pissed God really really off. But I'm sure whatever it is it isn't me, I've been a good girl (well, a relatively good girl) lately -- I'm sure God approved of me and my sister making peace over the weekend (she was in town for her boyfriend's bar exams.)

It's raining, well, rain. Lots of rain.

I like the rain, but I can't help but miss summer sometimes. I long for long, lazy days at the beach -- no work, no worries, just the sand, the sea, and me. Wouldn't that be nice. And I wouldn't mind a rainy day at the beach that much either.

So. What have I been up to? I know it's been a long while since my last post. I've been quite busy, and been quite boring, to be perfectly honest. Though I did get to shoot some more with Boris, I'm waiting for my 2 rolls of film to be delivered today. Perhaps tomorrow I'll post something better than this boring, uninteresting string of thought. Hehe.

I also got myself a new phone, after what seemed like a hundred years. And yes, that means more camwhoring times, like this one. So don't be surprised if you see more of my face here again lol.

That's it for now. Take care in the rain folks!
