i never wished for rain so hard like i did yesterday. it was so hot and humid the whole day, the slightest movement was an effort. even getting up from a chair was dizzying. it seemed like the sun moved closer to earth, rays licking the surface mercilessly, ensuing a slow, painful burning. even the air was hot.

late in the afternoon the sky darkened, the breeze cooling a little. it looked like it was going to rain, and i couldn't be happier.

the sky was gloomy, the clouds a sad gathering of gray and white.

but the rain never came.

i guess the rain went someplace else.
