Can I just say that Rom smokes it best?

When it comes to politics in the Philippines I can only think of about four words, three of them invectives. But if you're going to ask me if I want another impeachment today, the answer is no. Why? Because of what is waiting in the wings, as what Rom so clearheadedly and bestestly (inventing words much? lolz) talks about in her post today.

The other day I saw Jinggoy Estrada being interviewed in ANC (which seem to harbor a secret fanity for anything related to Erap these days). Erap's mini-me was cheekily answering reporters' questions about the possibility of him running for president in 2010, likening himself to his daddy ("nag-artista sya, nag-artista din ako; nagMayor sya, nagMayor din ako; nagpakulong sya, nagpakulong din ako; malaki tiyan nya, malaki din tiyan ko...")

Now that - is scary.

Well, my Tagalog is terrible. Is nagpakulong to do with boiling ( magpakulo) or imprisonment (ie magkulong)?

LULULULULULz jamie, i almost cried with the visuals of jinggoy in boiling water lululz

"magpakulong" has something to do with imprisonment, yes. =)

"nag-artista sya, nag-artista din ako; nagMayor sya, nagMayor din ako; nagpakulong sya, nagpakulong din ako; malaki tiyan nya, malaki din tiyan ko..." -- ROUGHLY translated: "he went into showbusiness, i went into showbusiness too; he was a Mayor, i was a mayor too; he was imprisoned, i was imprisoned too; he's a fattie, i'm a fattie too"

Is it scary because it's Jinggoy.. or because he looks like his dad.

LOl I knew the other ones! I'm just not good with complicated words (it might be to do with the fact that I'm not a pinay and have only been learning it for 4 months lol)

And in some cases, especially in politics, boiling water/oil is the best solution!

@ paolo: both. =P

@ rom: *bows* haha

@ jamie: learning to be pinay? whoa.
