Okay people. Somebody just named their child after a TV station. How about a slow clap for these folks? Oh wait. You GMA-7 fans wouldn't let them get away with this, won't you. Come on, let's name a clueless baby out there GMA-7. And while we're at it, let's have a TV-5 as well. And Q-TV. Let's cover everything, we're like, taking the whole baby-naming to a whole different level.

And you thought inserting random h's to names was bad.

So this morning there was a frog in the bathroom.

I was about to take a bath when something brown fell to the floor with a suspicious splat. Being still a bit half asleep and blind without my glasses I curiously moved closer to check the thing. Then it fucking leaped to the wall and scaled it. Fucking scaled the damn wall.

It was a good thing that I hadn't stripped down to take a bath yet, or I would've run naked and screaming out of the place, scaring the neighbors at 6 o' clock in the morning.

Whoever thought about a frog prince turning into a prince LIED. What woman in her right mind would kiss a brown, wet, wall-climbing frog? Even a drunk or a loony would think twice, ESPECIALLY IF THE FROG STARTED TALKING. O hai I'm a frog but I'm your prince kiss me? I'd be definitely suspicious. Of the frog. And my sanity.

Why didn't they just make it the Dog Prince? Or the Cat Prince. Or the Elephant Prince. You know, at least something mammal?

These are the things that made me afraid today:

Not being able to settle my credit card bills, getting sued, and getting locked up in a jail somewhere where I won't be able to blog, twitter, party, shoot pictures, and see sunsets. Worse, I'd have to wear orange all the time. I hate the color orange.

That my state of distraction and my constant feeling of not being quite there would result to replying something incoherent and embarrassing to people I'm talking to, like mumbling something about being a black hole in your universe, dancing cows and riding unicorns when I'm being asked about where to save files and shit like that.

Falling down the flight of stairs.

Not being okay for a long time.

Looking and liking what I'm seeing too much.

Getting too fat.

Being always almost there but never really making it.

A burnout.

Getting old and not really getting it.

Losing the fight. Wait, what am I fighting anyway?

Being lost, permanently.

Three years here and there are still times, like now, that I feel like the extra finger I first saw in an aunt's hand a long time ago. It's there but it doesn't really have a purpose, or function. I'm sure that aunt would have had her extra finger cut off if it weren't such an inconvenience to get it done. So I figure, she chose to just live with it.

The extra digit is most commonly an abnormal fork in an existing digit.

I thought being okay with what I do, being called something fancy, and being with people I liked was good enough. Never mind what I actually get for it. Now it's looking like I was wrong, again.

In the past, the slightest signs of unhappiness sent me packing and moving on. Why, despite of the heartaches and letdowns for the past three years I'm still here I'm surprised myself.

You can give it your best shot and how many percent of the time you still will miss.

Maybe it's time to choose another target.

Or another gun.

Or maybe I'm playing the wrong game.

I just want this day to be done and over with.

I don't mean this to be another emo-emohan post -- just that I woke up this morning, missed the floor, hit my head on the door of indifference and not even glimpses of the eye candy (via my spy mirror -- so far, I've only been successful at catching a clear glimpse of his err, siko, lol) or mouthfuls of Toblerone chocolates (which I've been munching since Saturday, Saturday!! Frack.) could turn me into Miss Congeniality.

I realized too, over the weekend, that though I don't hate living with people under one roof, I'd love a place where I can watch pirated DVDs without having to strain my ears above loud conversations to understand what's going on in the movie. Or not having a daydream interrupted by the sound of flapping footwear in the stairs. Or going home late, or not going home at all, or taking home people (sounds totally perv, lol) without having to worry other people. In other words, I totally won't mind a place of my own yes?

Meditation doesn't work for me either -- I tried singing that Across The Universe line Jai Guru Deva Om in my head (The Beatles seemed to be the soundtrack of the dream that I had last night that I can't remember now, and this morning I woke up to Strawberry Fields playing. In my head.) Attempt at meditation result? Fail. Sorry naman, but the closest thing I can come to meditation is watching por--oopp, concentrating on checking line after line after a gazillion line of product descriptions and making it to the deadline with my sanity, and eyesight, intact.

It could be that I am feeling caged again and I want to get away -- like Hong Kong or Singapore or Boracay-away (Mira, are we going this September??). The office-work-occasional going out with friends is slowly taking its toll on me -- I'm a getaway girl, I have to go places or I shrivel up and die. It's been months since I've had a vacation, I could be turning into a hermit. Or worse, a potential adobo-cooking, rumor-mongering, people-rearing housewife. The possibility of turning into someone perfectly contented in a cooped little home is making me run out of happy. I haven't even been to Batanes yet! And Tibet is waiting.

So yeah. This day is almost over. I plan to run home, curl up in bed, and ignore the world.

Now I go.

Okay. Maybe a little later.

So I woke up at 3:30 this morning and found myself contemplating about things.

A brawl between drunks took place in front of our apartment last night. Seconds after the shouting, cursing, and flailing of weapons -- my house mates and I found ourselves staring at what hopefully was not a dead person lying just a few feet away from where we stood. Scared shitless we frantically locked our doors and ran to the safety of our rooms as the neighborhood went into hysterics.

Safe in our room we ended up talking about the stupid things we've done that we now prefer to call accidents. Like the time I was twelve and I jumped out of a moving tricycle just to see if I can land on the ground upright. Of course I did. Land on my face, that is.

Moral of the story: contemplation at 3:30 in the morning = FAIL.
