It's already 2008, it's time to say goodbye to some things...This year I've managed the surprising feat of actually staying put in a company -- I'm two years and counting now with my current work, and transferring, with my team to our office in Manila. Whether this will turn out okay I've yet to see. But one thing's for sure, I'm truly going to miss my officemates here in Legazpi! Thanks guys for everything =)
So. 2008..and...
I has a planner!
Sure it's free from that Kahlua coffee liqueur I bought for our annual new year's drinking party but hey, it's still a planner and it's going to organize my life this year yes?
Happy 2008 everyone!! 5 comments View blog reactions

For some reason this song is stuck in my head.Boston
Augustana
In the light of the sun, is there anyone? Oh it has begun...
Oh dear you look so lost, eyes are red and tears are shed,
This world you must've crossed... you said...
You don't know me, you don't even care, oh yeah,
She said
You don't know me, and you don't wear my chains... oh yeah,
Essential yet appealed, carry all your thoughts across
An open field,
When flowers gaze at you... they're not the only ones who cry
When they see you
You said...
You don't know me, you don't even care, oh yeah,
She said
You don't know me, and you don't wear my chains... oh yeah,
She said I think I'll go to Boston...
I think I'll start a new life,
I think I'll start it over, where no one knows my name,
I'll get out of California, I'm tired of the weather,
I think I'll get a lover and fly em out to Spain...
I think I'll go to Boston,
I think that I'm just tired
I think I need a new town, to leave this all behind...
I think I need a sunrise, I'm tired of the sunset,
I hear it's nice in the Summer, some snow would be nice... oh yeah,
Boston... where no one knows my name... Where no one knows my name...
Where no one knows my name... Yeah Boston... Where no one knows my name.
Maybe it's the moving (back) to Manila. Maybe it's leaving what's familiar. Maybe it's starting over. Maybe it's not. Maybe it's just the holiday blues.
Maybe I just need to eat more solid food.
*end emo moment here*
P.S.
We're looking for a place for 6 (preferably in the Shaw area) suggestions, guys?

At first I wasn't so into the idea of a Christmas costume party, after all, the only things I looked forward to were friends, food and the booze and why would anyone have to get all dressed up for that?...but I sure am glad I changed my mind -- last night's office party was the best ever! And what did I come as? Take a wild guess, hahaha! =P
*UPDATED*
And let me just say that, I'm so proud of my team *sentimental*
Clockwise from top: Jinky (Arwen), Jeremy (Prince Harming? Kidding haha),
Juliet (her fave DOTA character), Franz (Princess Jasmine)
Juliet (her fave DOTA character), Franz (Princess Jasmine)
Nothing makes "work" less work than having great people around you. Thank you guys (for putting up with my nasty ways, haha)!
Merry Christmas, everyone!

What? I did not internutz for four straight days? BUT WHYYYYYYY?!?!??1. Because my SMARTbro connection at home is sucky lately and I still have no connection up to now (unless that fumbling CSR I talked to actually MEANT what she said about reporting my complaint to their technical department);
2. Because my office has BLOCKED twitter and now I can not even whine about the simple things in life like...like...like...(okay, I'll get back to this point later k);
3. Because I dislocated several neck muscles and now I'm temporarily incapacitated thanks to the prolonged staring up the sky to count ELEVEN out of a hundred PRETTAAAYYY (this one's for you Baddie because I slay you like, now) shooting stars during the meteor shower;
4. Because I'm busy making sure my costume makes me look
5. Because I'm currently in a secret location hiding from my inaanaks;
6. Because I got pwnd at the mall and am now bankrupt and homeless;
7. Because I'm poor and depressed that I can't buy a laptop and that Abenson guy just made it worse by saying LAFTHAF when I tried to ask about the Sony Vaio catalog displayed at their store;
8. Because I'm making a valiant attempt to invite good karma to my sucky life by shutting up;
9. Because Britney has pwnd me and now I want to shift careers and be a pole dancer;
10. Because I was a little drunk during the weekend.
And oh by the way, did I mention that I saw a very prettaaayy PINK star while watching (or trying to) the meteor shower? It was so prettaaayy it was gay.

So I don't have sleep. I spent my sleepy time tossing and turning in bed I swear I lost some fat on my face, and now have a sculptured body. In between the tossing and the turning I made the decision to stay here over transferring to Manila, even if it meant giving up the possibility of having a paycheck double of what I'm getting now. Okay, I know I have had (and still have) issues with how my current work is progressing, and I do have a nasty feeling this could be one of the stupidest decisions I have made yet (I'm sure I won't be running out of these things anyway) AND I do regret that I prolly won't be able to study Film next year like I planned (but who knows?) -- but at this point in my life I just know that if ever I'm going to have "change" it better be something that I really want you know? Kind of like getting into a relationship because you want to, not because you need to? Basta, ganun. Besides, this is my nth job in the course of seven years and I'm pretty much sick of stopping and starting all over again.I'm happy with my decision though. FOR NOW.
Am I really screwed this time?
Well at least myheritage.com says I look like Beyonce AND Jessica Alba. I shake my booty at the universe please.

And now for the magic-o!
UPDATE: This is what I'll look like if I decide to get some stuff done (with Miss Alba as my inspiration)
Am I self-absorbed today. LOL. =P

I lost most of my books during last year's super typhoon Reming so I'm trying to build my collection again. So there.
And I don't know what to blog about these days -- I was going to make a wish list for Christmas but I'm not really sure yet what I want for Christmas (or in life in general) -- not that people would bother giving me gifts anyway (hello, friends?). I'm pretty sure the one who picked my name for our Christmas party on the 21st is hating my guts already for the simple little wish list I made. It included a bottle of Absolut Vodka, among other things.
Okay, I know this is prolly stupid -- but am I the last one to know that people use this trick to make them eyes look bigger (and cuter, or creepier -- depending on what your taste is)? What a clueless, huh. 3 comments View blog reactions

Because I am still in the process of discovering myself (late bloomers much?LULZ) I took this nifty little test I found in one of my favorite blogger's posts. It's called the Political CompassTM test and here are my results:My political compass
Economic Left/Right: -3.25
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.62
Yep, that's me rolling there with Nelson Mandela and The Dalai Lama. And because I'm naturally stupid with anything that involves numbers (I flunked in Statistics and can somebody explain further whymydotistherekthnxbai) and that my "political views" of late thrive on the LOLable, for a more serious look at this topic do check out cvj's blog. There's a cool "scatterplot" there of how other bloggers fared and what it could mean for the local bloggerscene. Quite interesting stuff.

If you're wondering where all the smart peoples are, they're at mlq3's blog discussing the country's state of affairs. Let me just say tho that I like The Cat's comment on mlq3's post [excerpt]:
So don’t judge the Filipino people why they won’t brave the rain. They know who are real heroes and who are not.
So, that being said, I move on, with some of my present day issues. Like whether I should come to our office fantasy-themed Christmas party as her:
Yes?
Oh, shuddup it.

The Fujiwara effect or Fujiwara interaction is a type of interaction between two nearby cyclonic vortices, causing them to appear to "orbit" each other. (from Wikipedia)
With the Filipinos' penchant for Taiwanese (Meteor Garden) and lately, Korean soap operas (Full House and Princess Hours - to name a few), I've always wondered why nobody has thought about producing a project with these guys yet. And now, after being fed with a strange concoction of aliens that look like burn victims, remakes of past drama hits, remakes of other soap operas, and the usual lost-child-true-child formulas, finally, something interesting.
Produced by Ignite Media Inc. and GMA Films, and filmed in the islands of Batanes - is Batanes (thank God not another song title for a movie title!) starring Iza Calzado and Ken Chu (of F4 fame). And it's not just a TV drama series, it's a movie. I checked out the trailer on youtube and it looks quite promising.
I know, I know, just another love story right? But at least we won't be seeing people in stupid costumes and pretend there's a story there somewhere.
Hopefully Batanes is the start of something good for the (dying) Philippine film industry. There has got to be something more, something better, out there.
Right, Amber? lolz.
